The Gunderson family invited me to their home last fall for their last family portraits on their farm. After many generations of farming the land just outside of Postville. They are selling and moving closer to family. While it is bittersweet for them to say goodbye, I was honored to be able to capture portraits of this big moment in their lives. I attended high school in Postville and Alexis was a good friend of mine and classmate. I've been blessed to document her family since her daughter was just a few months old. We're going to skip over how many years it's been since then because, as usual, I'm going to continue to live in denial about how much all the kids I know have grown... Such a sweet mother-daughter duo! Grandpa and Emma have the sweetest bond. He would often watch her when she was little and these two are thick as thieves. Love it!
I honestly cannot thank the Gunderson family enough for allowing me to document their family in this incredibly special place as they said goodbye to the land and their home. It was an honor!
