Following the ceremony, we headed around Eagle Point Park, where the ceremony and reception were both held, for bridal party portraits. What a great group! I mean just check them out when I asked them to "strike a pose." So much fun!
After the overlook area, we headed over to a small patch of woods just across the parking lot. The bright purples and reds of the bridal party pop beautifully against the green setting.
When we finished with the bridal party, I had some time with Ashley and Chris alone. I love this time with couples, capturing them as they interact and are themselves.
Again, let's just take a moment to appreciate how lovely their rings are. Beautiful!
Following dinner, there was a break in the clouds and the early evening sunlight beautifully illuminated the trees. Ashley and Chris stole away from the reception for a few minutes and we did a quick series of poses in the gorgeous light. Lovely!!
Their cake cutting started out as any cake cutting does. They were kind in feeding each other the first bite of cake.
Then, things took a turn, as Chris tried his hand at a stealth cake attack. It was a quick strike, but didn't hit it's mark as intense as he may have intended.
On the other hand, Ashley had some volunteers to help her in her retaliation. Chris' mother and grandmother were happy to lend a hand in holding Chris still so Ashley could smash cake into Chris' face like a pro. Chris returned fire and they were both well covered in frosting and cake, amidst laughter and cheers from their guests. It was quite entertaining!
The toasts were both humorous and heartfelt. You could feel the love the best man, Chris' brother, and maid of honor, one Ashley's closest friends, have for them. Lovely!
The dance began with Chris and Ashley's first dance, set where their ceremony had taken place just hours before, in front of the beautiful tree. Perfect!
The first dance was followed by Chris' dad dancing with Ashley, then a dance with her son, followed by a dance with her daughter.
At the end of the evening, the sunset was pouring golden light through the trees to the west. So we stole away again from the reception for a few minutes. I'm so glad we did! I love their sunset portraits! Stunning!!
Congratulations to Chris and Ashley! Thank you so much for including us in your beautiful wedding day. It was a pleasure!
Also, thank you to Michael Weber for assisting me with this stunning event!
