Following their beautiful ceremony in the redwood trees, Greg and Lisa greeted their guests and welcomed them to enjoy cocktail hour. Then, we began their portraits. Have I mentioned how much I LOVED the trees? They made a stunning backdrop for Greg and Lisa's portraits.
After formal portraits and family portraits, we headed over to get some details before guests made their way over to the reception area. The wooden tables were elegantly decorated with beautiful floral arrangements and cream table runners. It was perfectly lovely!
I had brought the invitation to Greg and Lisa's wedding along with me from Iowa. It is probably the coolest invitation I've ever seen! It is printed on thinly cut wood with two redwood trees decorating it. Amazing! Not only was it unique and it was very fitting for Greg and Lisa's wedding. Perfection!
As pictured above, the guests had access to two Polaroid cameras and added their snapshots to a photo board as a photo guestbook. Love it! Everyone seemed to have a great time snapping shots and adding them to the frame.
Can I just take a minute to talk about their rings? Seriously, check out their rings!!! Lisa's has a stunning lab-created emerald and Greg's is made from a combination of damask metal and meteorite metal. So unique and beautiful!! I had so much fun photographing them. I think my new all-time-favorite ring shot is the one above with the rings nestled in the succulent. As I was wandering the area looking for fun places to photograph the rings and invite, I saw a lone succulent plant over near where the caterers had set up. Glad I did! I LOVE the resulting image!
The food at the wedding was fantastic! It was an all vegan meal consisting of five delightful courses. All of the food was prepared fresh on site. This cuisine was ah-mazing!!! I missed a shot of one of the dishes because I may or may not have been shoveling it into my mouth. It was butternut squash gnocchi, need I say more? Yum!!
Lisa's sister and Greg's father each gave beautiful, heartfelt toasts to the newlyweds. You could feel the love that surrounds Greg and Lisa not only from their words, but also the smiles on their faces. Lovely!
After the cake cutting and some time spent with guests, Greg and Lisa took tot he dance floor. The golden glow of sunset gave a soft, dreamy light to their first dance.
Honestly, I think their smiles and they way they snuggled together as they danced, pretty much sum it up perfectly; pure love and joy.
Following the first dance, Lisa and her father took to the dance floor for the father-daughter dance, while Greg danced with Lisa's mother.
After the more formal dances were finished, the dance floor picked up and guests had a blast dancing and enjoying the beautiful evening.
Before the reception ended, I borrowed Greg and Lisa for a few final portraits after dark. I love how they turned out! I think my some of my favorite moments are the ones that are un-posed. I love the moments when I get a couple into position and just let them talk, snuggle, and interact. You can see it in their faces and in their body language, their connection to each other and their love. There is nothing more beautiful.
Congratulations again to Greg and Lisa! Thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your stunning day and to celebrate with you as you begin this new chapter in your lives. We are so happy for you both!
Also, a huge thank you to my husband, Josh, for assisting me in capturing this gorgeous wedding day!
