On an incredibly hot September afternoon, I met with Nick at the Cedar Rapids Public Library to begin his senior portrait session. Thankfully, Nick was a great sport about it all and didn't the weather get to him.
We had some fun wandering the back streets of downtown and found some pretty great places to stop along the way.
Our next stop was out to Palisades-Kepler State Park.
In case you haven't noticed a theme, Nick is a pretty big Hawkeye fan. So much so, he made sure his senior session would not interfere with his ability to watch the game that evening. Go Hawks!
Our next stop was at Nick's high school in Marion. They were gearing up for a band event, but we were able to sneak in a few shots without being in the way.
For the more formal portraits, we headed to downtown Marion.
Our final stop was the most significant for Nick. He is studying to be an EMT and has been volunteering with the Hiawatha Fire Department. He plans to follow a career as either a fire fighter or paramedic. It was great to be able to capture images of him with the fire engine.
I know the future is bright for Nick. Best wishes to him as he finishes his senior year and pursues his dreams!
