On a cloudy October afternoon, I met with Matan and Natalie in Solon to begin their engagement session. The clouds were looking ominous when we began our session, but thankfully the storms held off.
After a few images downtown in Solon, we headed to Lake McBride. As we were walking along the path to the spillway, the dark clouds parted and the beautiful evening sun was able to shine through. Such a beautiful moment!
Natalie and Matan are Iowa City natives, but are currently living in Nebraska. They first met in 7th grade. Their love story began when they had their first date to see "I am Legend" their sophomore year.
He proposed to her at her nursing school graduation, as a total surprise. He had planned it so all of her family and all of his family were there with them to celebrate. Of course the families came thinking it would be a graduation celebration and were delighted to celebrate their new engagement as well!
They are excited for their wedding this coming July. I cannot wait to photograph their big day!
It was so easy photographing Matan and Natalie. They are such a natural fit together and were a joy to work with. While Matan was orignially not very excited to have his portraits taken, I think he had a great time snuggling and hanging out with his beautiful fiance.
Our final location was at the beach, with soft sand and a beautiful backdrop of fall leaves and cloudy skies.
I love the portrait of them snuggling and laughing together on the dock. These two are such a beautiful pair and love each other greatly.
As the light faded, we stopped for a few photos along the road. Simply stunning.
I am so excited to capture Matan and Natalie's wedding at the Celebration Farm in Iowa City this coming July!
