Grant + Carrie {Wedding: Part 1}
On a beautiful July morning, I met with my assistant, Shuva Rahim, and headed to the Wakonda Club in Des Moines for Carrie and Grant's wedding day. When we arrived, Carrie was prepared with everything ready for the detail shots. We began with her dress, earrings, flowers and shoes. They were lovely!!
Her earrings in the flowers are some of my favorite detail shots ever. I love all of the natural light in the Wakonda Club. A photographer's dream!
As her personal attendant helped her get buttoned into her dress, Carrie's bridesmaids looked on with big smiles on their faces.
I love all of the floral touches throughout the decor. The soft pink roses, peach teacup roses, and greenery create a soft, beautiful look. The golden lanterns give it warmth and tie in the gold touches throughout the wedding.
Their first look took place just behind the clubhouse, in the shade of the oak trees. We placed them back to back, holding hands. You could see the excitement on their faces as they awaited the moment they would turn around to see each other for the first time on their wedding day. Pure joy!
Following the first look, we headed into the shade of the oak trees by the 18th hole to capture portraits of Carrie and Grant. I love their navy and blush color pallet. So soft and classic. Stunning!
As the weather was gorgeous, the golfers were out on the course so we had to be careful where we went for bridal party portraits. Thankfully there was a beautiful rock wall and shaded area along the pathway. I think it made for a beautiful location for portraits!
Grant's niece was their flower girl and such a sweetheart! It was so sweet to see just how much she loves her uncle and new aunt. What a precious girl!
Family portraits took place a little closer to the clubhouse. Thankfully, we were able to get some in along the path between golfers hitting through to the 18th hole. I love all the trees at the Wakonda Club. Such a magnificent location!
Just a few weeks old, Carrie's niece was an absolute peanut!
