Stephen + Rachel {Wedding: Part 1}
Heading to Stillwater, Minnesota, for Stephen and Rachel's wedding, I knew that it was going to be a beautiful day filled with love. This gorgeous couple met on a night out. Stephen was a DJ at the bar and Rachel was immediately drawn to him. They flirted all night and eventually exchanged numbers when the bar was closing. It was love at first sight! They instantly connected over music and soon were spending every possible minute together, learning that they had a ton in common and their personalities complemented each other perfectly.
Their proposal story is so sweet and reflects their favorite past time, hiking with their dog, Gracie. He convinced Rachel to take the dog for a walk in the park. They found a pond with a small dock and, when she was distracted by the dog sniffing at something, he called to her. When she turned around he was on one knee. He asked her to marry him and, of course, she said "yes!"
Their wedding day began with getting ready at Rachel's parents home, just outside of Stillwater.
I love the matching robes Rachel and her bridesmaids had. We even found one for her "bridesman" to wear. He was such a great sport about joining in the fun!
When we arrived at Trellis Outdoor Weddings we were blown away by how beautiful it was! A perfect location for Rachel and Stephen's intimate wedding ceremony.
Along the garden path leading into the ceremony location, Rachel and Stephen shared their first look. The joy on their faces reflected their absolute love for each other. Beautiful!!
When asked what they love most about one another, Rachel said she loves his ability to keep her calm and rational. He always knows just what to say or do when she is worried or stressed; he makes her forget about it and makes her laugh. Stephen's answer was a little shorter, but so sweet. He loves Rachel's eyes!
Rachel and Stephen are surrounded by love. Their friends and family were simply amazing and you could see just how much the care for and support this beautiful couple.
Gracie, their adorable dog, joined in the wedding fun, serving as flower girl.
This past spring, Stephen lost his mother. To honor her, his boutonniere carried a charm with her picture and a beautiful sign she hand made for the day saying "This way to I do" greeted each person as they arrived.
