092918-082 It was a raining softly as I arrived with my assistants, Eric and Andrea, at First United Methodist Church in Iowa City for Ben and Becka's wedding day.  The skies were gloomy outside, but inside was filled with excitement as the bridal party prepared for the day. 

We began by photographing them getting ready and the details.  Becka's dress hangar was her grandmother's with wire lettering created by her brother.  What an absolutely perfect personal touch! 092918-096 092918-101 092918-117 Becka's mom and grandmother helped her into her gorgeous gown.  I love the moment of her looking in the mirror while they assisted her.  Such a beautiful moment! 092918-123 Ben and Becka chose not to see each other before the ceremony, so their special look could be as she walked down the aisle.  So before the ceremony, I photographed Ben and his guys first, before hiding them away to photograph Becka and her ladies (and bridesmen!). 092918-019 092918-021 092918-161 092918-162 Their flowers are gorgeous!  I love the pops of blue from the thistles and hydrangeas paired with the cranberry, greens, and whites.  Lovely!

092918-213 092918-214 092918-217 092918-277 Ben's reaction to seeing Becka come down the aisle was perfect.  You can see in his eyes just how much he loves her.  So beautiful! 092918-279 092918-283 092918-288 092918-295 092918-309 092918-314 Ben and Becka's ceremony was simply beautiful!  A perfect tribute to their relationship, filled with humor and love.  092918-315 092918-321 092918-326 092918-335 092918-337 092918-354 Instead of store bought sand for their sand ceremony, Ben and Becka each brought sand from a beach near their childhood homes, sand that held great significance to them.  What a beautiful way to show your lives blending together and create a beautiful heirloom!! 092918-359 092918-376 092918-383 092918-408 The skies opened up as they exited the church, but it wasn't enough to put a damper on their enjoyment of the day by any means.  Their smiles tell it all! 092918-409 092918-415 They left the church in the car Ben has been restoring since high school.  Another perfect personal touch!
