I had such a lovely time photographing Meagan and Scott's engagement session! We met at LeClaire Park in Davenport. After weeks of snow and cold weather, we enjoyed a beautiful, warm spring evening. A pleasant change of pace!
Scott and Meagan first met met at a local bar in Davenport called Kilkenny's. Neither really wanted to go out that evening but joined friends anyway. They saw each other across the room and ended up next to each other ordering drinks. They started talking and the rest is history!
Their first date was on Scott's birthday. Meagan shared, "He took me to a restaurant where we talked and laughed and Meagan spilled a whole glass of water everywhere. We went to a bar/restaurant where Scott's band practiced and they were having a birthday party for him. We spent the evening there an went upstairs where Scott played a song he had written."
Their favorite memory together was a trip to Florida where they camped and floated down the river at Ginny Springs. Meagan flipped over her tube right as a snake jumped into the lagoon. She couldn't get back into the tube and was completely oblivious of the snake that floated right by. Crazy!
I love their proposal story!!
"It started with a quiet, late night Valentine's day dinner at home. I (Meagan) had prepared heart shaped cheese ravioli because it was also Ash Wednesday. After dinner, we were sitting on the couch getting ready to wrap up the evening and go to bed when Scott asked for his keys. I was very confused why he would need his keys before bed and why he was asking me to get them. He told me he thought he left them next to the sink.
I went to all the sinks in the house ending in the basement. When I got the keys, he had followed me downstairs and took them from me to show me a small key. He told me the key went to a box somewhere in the house. I searched all over and finally found a small lock box. I was thinking there might be a movie to watch in the box. When I opened the box, I found a small jewelry box. When I looked up, Scott was on one knee.... I had no idea the scavenger hunt would end in a ring and was completely surprised. Overall a great day and we ended with a glass of champagne to celebrate! "
When asked what they love most about each other, they answered, " We love to laugh together. We just have a lot of fun.
I (Meagan) love that there is always someone that understands what I'm trying to say even when I can't say it myself.
I (Scott) love Meagan's adventurous spirit and willingness to explore as well as her devotion to family and friends."
When asked what they're most looking forward to in the future, their answer was, " Everything! Building a home and a life together." Love it!!
It was an absolute joy capturing engagement portraits for these beautiful love birds! I cannot wait to photograph their Davenport wedding this October!!
