Rain loomed in the forecast as we arrived at Rapid Creek Cidery in Iowa City for Josh and Jessica's wedding day. My fingers were crossed their outdoor ceremony would be able to go on as planned.
We began the morning with detail photos. I love Jessica's shoes!! Not only do they look comfy, they are blinged out and the "I Do" on the side is a perfect "something blue."
Josh and Jessica got engaged on a family trip to Ireland. It was only fitting to bring in some Irish to their wedding day. The ropes and lace below were used during their ceremony for a hand-fasting. They literally tied the knot!
Their guest tables were each labeled in honor of a trip Josh and Jessica had taken together instead of numbered. I love the map and airplane pins they used on their escort sign!
Each table card had a little write up about their trip to that location. What a great way for guests to get to know them even better!
You could feel their excitement as they prepared for the wedding day. Josh's suit had a subtle plaid that tied into the wedding colors, and he wore the hat he purchased while they were in Ireland.
Also while in Ireland, Jessica purchased a special button her mother sewed into her wedding gown. I adore all of their special, personalized touches! They truly made their wedding their own and a special celebration of their love story!
The rainy weather didn't stop the day. Their first look took place on the patio just outside the reception hall. It was such a beautiful moment as they saw each other for the first time! Pure joy!!
Fresh from the first look, we captured a few portraits of Josh and Jessica before they shared a special moment with her parents.
They did a first look with her father and presented her parents with a beautiful book, celebrating their family and their journey.
While the rain drizzled outside, we popped back into the reception area for formal portraits with the bridal party and family. I love the rustic wooden wall as a background!!
Be sure to check back soon for more from Josh and Jessica's wedding day!
