051119-01 I mostly photograph weddings, but occasionally past clients and friends ask me to capture milestones in their lives which I am happy to do!  So when one of my best friends asked me to photograph her son's one year portraits, I was excited to!  I cannot even believe her little guy is one!  Seriously, I'm pretty sure I just photographed his newborn session like last week, right?  My how time flies!! 051119-08 051119-11 051119-14 It was so much fun having Ayden in the studio for his portraits and, best of all, cake smash!  This handsome little blue-eyed boy was such a joy to photograph, though he was a little more keen on exploring (and trying to figure out what the crazy grownups were doing while we were trying to get him to smile, ha!) than looking at the camera and smiling. 051119-18 051119-27 051119-39 Now onto the main event... the cake smash!  I have photographed many of these adorable events over the years.  Many little ones aren't interested in it or get upset they get sticky from the frosting, but not Ayden.  He had a blast smooshing and smashing his cake!! 051119-41 051119-45 051119-54 051119-57 051119-64 That is a look for pure joy!  I get it, little man, I'm pretty sure I look like that when I see cake too!  Yum! 051119-65 051119-68 051119-71 When he decided he was done, he wanted to continue exploring, but mom and dad prevented him from crawling off the backdrop.  He was less than thrilled. Poor guy!

It was so much fun capturing this big milestone in Ayden's life!  I cannot wait until the next time I have him in front of my camera!
