It was a beautiful fall evening at Lake MacBride when I met up with Thiago and Margaret.
Thiago and Margaret first met on Tinder and have been together for five years. Thiago is originally from Brazil and Margaret is from Texas. Fates brought them both to Iowa to study. Both attend the University of Iowa for graduate school, Thiago studying music and Margaret studying psychology.
Their proposal story is so sweet! Margaret shared, "It was in February, right before the virus hit. It was the day after Valentine's Day. We went to a nice restaurant, then walked to the Pentacrest, and he proposed on the steps of the Old Capitol Building."
The water at the spillway was beautiful! After weeks of it being dry, the recent rains had the water cascading down the rocks. Stunning with the fall leaves!
Margaret and Thiago's formal look for portraits was on point!!! Seriously, so gorgeous!! I love how her hair pops even more with her gorgeous pink satin skirt. Thiago's light jacket is the perfect balance!
Years before, they had a treasured photo taken of them dancing, so we made sure to get some dancing shots with the gorgeous glowing leaves. I think these are my favorites from their whole session!!
After Lake MacBride, we headed over to Big Grove in Solon for some more urban portraits.
We could not have had a more perfect evening for this beautiful couple!
We had so much fun wandering around downtown Solon and finding new spots for portraits. I love being able to explore areas I've been before to find hidden gems!
We ended the evening back at Big Grove, where they had their fire pit blazing. Thankfully, the patio was empty so we were able to take advantage of the beautiful flames. I don't know, maybe these are my favorites from their session! I love how they turned out!!
Thank you so much, Margaret and Thiago, for allowing me to capture your engagement portraits! It was so much fun getting to know you both and I am so excited for your wedding next July!!!
