080319-0563080319-0563 Details are an important part of capturing a wedding day to it's fullest.  The beginning of the day is full of detail photos, as I take time to capture the invitations, dress, shoes, flowers, rings, jewelry, suit, cuff links, and more.   I love this time, these details really set the tone for the wedding day and take album designs to the next level.  060819-004060819-004 Often, I do not have the same time to capture the details of the reception hall, the table decor, and all that entails before guests arrive.  I highly encourage couples to keep their reception doors closed during cocktail hour, keeping the spaces separate.  Not only does this allow your guest experience to be fuller by creating three different spaces for them to enjoy (ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception), it allows your photographer to capture the room in it's pristine form.  061618-607061618-607 Often between ceremony and reception, couples choose to go to another location for portraits, which I love!  However, it makes it tricky for me to get into the reception hall for details.  Consider planning in a 15 minute window where you join your guests at cocktail hour (have a drink and say "hi!"), while allowing your photographer to capture those beautiful, carefully planned details.
