We could not have asked for a more beautiful day for Thiago and Margaret's wedding. The day began at The Element in downtown Iowa City, where Margaret got ready with her friends and family. Her train was adorned by beautiful lace. I love when a mother helps her daughter into her wedding gown. Such a special moment! Their first look took place in front of The Element and was such a beautiful moment. Thiago was blown away by his beautiful bride! We seized the opportunity for a few portraits before heading to Harvest Preserve for their wedding. Margaret's engagement ring is stunning! That beautiful pink stone in the golden setting. Love it! The blush roses from Beautifully Bloomed made for a perfect styling addition. Her veil was perfect! I adore when a bride has a lovely, flowy veil!! Big Ten Rentals set up a beautiful white tent where Margaret and Thiago held their wedding and reception. The decor was stunning! Beautifully Bloomed created absolutely gorgeous floral arrangements for the tables. Their rentals from Borrow My Vintage were perfect for the space, including a beautiful series of vintage rugs as the aisle runner. Margaret and Thiago were married on paper in March of 2020, but wanted to celebrate their love with a wedding attended by friends and family. Unfortunately, Covid restrictions prevented Thiago's family in Brazil from joining them. Thankfully, they were able to join virtually. During the ceremony, Margaret turned and addressed Thiago's family, making a vow in Portuguese to love and honor their son. I don't speak Portuguese, but it was a very beautiful and powerful moment. We were sure to get a few portraits with Thiago's family and friends who joined the wedding day virtually. Margaret's family traveled from Texas to join them on their wedding day. What a great looking group! Thiago graduated from the University of Iowa with a Masters in music and is an accomplish clarinetist. For their wedding day, they chose live music as entertainment for their guests. The musicians were wonderful! Margaret's best friend, her siblings, and her parents all offered beautiful toasts to the happy couple, and her father read a message from Thiago's father. They chose to create a time capsule to open on a later anniversary, filled with well wishes from guests and the toasts that were shared. Before the end of the reception, we snuck away for a few more portraits around Harvest Preserve. What a stunning location!!!
Thank you so much to Margaret and Thiago for allowing us to capture your wedding day! It was an honor getting to know you both!!
