Meet Maya! She is a senior at Mid-Praire and absolutely rocked her senior portrait session. We met up in downtown Iowa City for her portraits. Unfortunately, the weather was a bit chillier and windier than we had hoped. However, I love how her session turned out! The alleys in Iowa City hold some absolutely fabulous hidden gems. I love the ivy and vine covered walls, the staircases, and the brick walls. It may seem odd to be wandering the alleys for photos, but it is 100% worth it! Can we just take a minute to appreciate Maya's shoes? I love the dress too, but those shoes just pop! As Maya was changing into her second outfit, the winds really started to pick up. We were able to find some sheltered locations (love the metal wall!) for those portraits. Then we retreated to the beauty and shelter of Voxman. The light in Voxman is dreamy and the whole building is beautifully neutral, perfect for portraits. By the time we got out of Voxman, in which we only spent about 15 minutes, the winds had picked up to the point we couldn't continue outdoor portraits at all. Making our final location of Terry Trueblood and impossibility. Such a bummer! However, we were able to sneak in a little outdoor session about a week later near my home just south of Wellman. The weather was perfect! Serious, how stunning is Maya?! She made my job easy. Narrowing down photos from her session was so hard! She looks great in them all!! I hope you enjoyed this little peek at Maya's senior portraits! Check back for more families and seniors soon!
