Chris + Ashley {Wedding: Part 1}
The last weekend of September, my assistant Michael and I headed to the ever gorgeous city of Dubuque for Ashley and Chris' "Nightmare Before Christmas" themed wedding. Yes, you read that correctly, "Nightmare Before Christmas." LOVE IT! I was so excited to capture their day, especially once they told me their theme. I would like to take a moment to fully appreciate the amazing custom shoes Ashley wore. I want a pair now. I wonder if they make them in flats...
We began our day at the Holiday Inn Dubuque where the ladies and guys were getting ready.
The first look took place along a brick wall at the back of the building. I love the brick tones with the colors of their wedding. Also, let's take another moment to appreciate Ashley's stunning silver toned dress. Beautiful!
Their children joined them during the first look. You could see the love this family shares.
There were so many amazing details through out the wedding. Ashley wore an elephant necklace, a subtle nod to her love of elephants. Her wedding band was a brilliant pop of color. I adore unique rings.
The wedding was attended by close friends and family. Following the bridal party's entrance, Ashley was escorted down the aisle by her children.
Their ceremony was tailored to them perfectly. A wonderful celebration of their relationship, officiated by a close friend. It was set in front of a beautiful tree, overlooking the river. Beautiful!
