GoldChalkYearReviewHolidayCard-5x7-FrontBGoldChalkYearReviewHolidayCard-5x7-FrontB What a year!  2016 has been a whirlwind.  I am so thankful for another amazing year with Geno Photography.  I had the pleasure of traveling all over for weddings this year (so much fun!!), snuggling many precious little newborns, capturing brilliant seniors, and photographing so many beautiful family moments.  Seriously, my clients are amazing and simply blow me away!  A big thank you to them for making this year the best one yet!

As for my family, as you can see, we have enjoyed some great moments together as well.  I cannot believe my oldest is 10 and my youngest is 8.  They are growing into two smart, funny, kind, and beautiful little ladies.  Each year, I reflect on past years portraits and am in awe of how much they have changed.  I love having these portraits to look back on.

As a family, we have traveled to Chicago, North Carolina, and California this year; each trip bringing it's own adventures.  We loved the Field Museum, the Museum of Science and Industry, Shedd Aquarium, and Addler Planetarium in Chicago.  The March days in Chicago were a bit gray and chilly while we were there, but the museums were so fun we hardly noticed.

In North Carolina, we reflected on my father and his life as we attended his memorial service.  It was bittersweet.  I miss him so much every single day, but it was so nice to finally bring him home.  It was also special to me to introduce my children to where I grew up and family members they do not have the opportunity to see regularly.  We also had the opportunity for some fun while we were back in my home state.  The girls loved Carowinds (my how it has changed in the past almost 20 years!) and the Outer Banks.  Daddy even took them for a walk to collect seashells at sunrise, what a beautiful memory!

California was a working vacation for us.  I photographed a wedding while there, with my husband assisting me (he's pretty great!).  The girls were in attendance as well, helping in their own way.  They did a great job leading a few dances later in the night!  Following the wedding, we spent a few days enjoying California.  We were in awe of the redwoods, loved the Monterrey Bay Aquarium, ate a lot of sushi, and had a blast in San Francisco.

I eagerly await what 2017 will bring for both Geno Photography and our family.  I am already so excited about another summer filled with gorgeous love stories to capture, and our family already has a fun vacation in the works for this spring.  Bring on 2017!
