It was a gorgeous evening when I met with Jake and Chelsey at the Palmer House Stable in Solon, where their wedding will be held next spring, to begin their engagement session.
Jake and Chelsey first met on Tinder, though it wasn't quite love at first sight.
"We went on a few dates and and sort of lost touch. We still talked from time to time, but not often. About a year later, we began talking again and going on dates and we eventually made it official!" - Chelsey
"Our very first date, we met at Red’s in North Liberty for a few beers. Jake didn’t have much time to hang out, because he had a slow pitch softball game. We actually lost track of time, and he was really late to his game." - Chelsey
I asked when they knew this was the one and Chelsey replied, "We were getting more serious, but weren’t officially dating yet. He took me to spend the day with his family and friends at Oktoberfest in Amana. That was the day we began to fall in love."
A beautiful beginning to their love story and one of their favorite memories together, as well as their trip to Nashville.
For the proposal, he went back to the place where they first started falling in love. How perfect!
"He took me to Oxe Yoke Inn in Amana, which was the place we began to fall in love. We had lunch with a friend of his. We went outside to go to a store in Amana, and he proposed in front of Oxe Yoke. He had invited his friend so he could take pictures of the proposal." - Chelsey
"I love his sense of humor and he has a big heart." - Chelsey
"I love how kind she is to everyone." - Jake
It was a beautiful evening getting to know Jake and Chelsey better and capturing their love story. Their wedding next spring is going to be fantastic! I cannot wait!!
