It was a warm July afternoon when I met up with Bryce and Jill in Monticello for their engagement session. This lovely couple is from the New Hampton area, but were in Monticello for the county fair, where Bryce and his family were participating in a truck pull later that evening. They spend much of their summer traveling around the Midwest for pulls and this was a great opportunity to capture that part of their lives during their engagement session. Love it when we have the opportunity to make sessions even more personal for couples!
I hadn't had the pleasure of visiting Monticello before. I had traveled past it many times, but never had the occasion to venture into town. I have to say, their downtown area is filled with great little spots for portraits.
After downtown, we headed to a small park not far from the fairgrounds. Jill is a huge fan of Beauty and the Beast, and their wedding will include themes from the movie. She brought along a super-cute "Be our guest" sign for their portraits, perfectly playing into the theme.
When he proposed, Bryce, knowing her love for Beauty and the Beast, gave her a forever rose just like the enchanted rose from the movie. Love it!!
Of course, we needed to include Bryce's truck in the portraits as well! He has spent a lot of time building it from scratch. So cool!
After we finished with the truck, we wandered around the Great Jones County Fair for a few more portraits before Bryce had to get ready for the pull. So much fun! Photographing at a fair is a new one for me and I love it! Such fun bright backgrounds. Plus we even were able to hop on a ride for a few portraits!
I had such a blast working with Bryce and Jill! I cannot wait for their beautiful wedding this winter!!
