Make Your Flowers Last Longer {Wedding Wednesday: Something Chic Floral}

something-chic-floralsomething-chic-floral Even though you may be using flowers for "just the day" or " just a few hours," they still have the chance to wilt and lose their appeal if not cared for properly.

Make them last with these helpful tips:

Put bouquets in water as often as possible between photos and ceremony.  We deliver our flowers in a box with vases of water. Put the flowers back in these vases when they are not being used.

Take the anthers out (this is the place in lilies where pollen is formed). This will help prevent pollen getting on dresses and hands as well help the flower last longer.  We do this for you but sometimes other lilies open over time and will need a little care.

Keep in water and in a cool location.  Refrigeration is ideal when flowers are not being enjoyed especially if you plan to use flowers for multiple days. Keep refrigerator no colder than 40 degrees F.

Do not touch blooms or "pet" flowers as oils from hands can damage the blooms.  Blooms wilt with heat and handling. Give children their flowers at the last minute.

Hold your bouquet down by your belly button. Ok, so this one won't make flowers last longer but will make sure to enhance the beauty instead of cover it up.
