Last October, I had the pleasure of working with Emily Crall and assisting her in capturing Josh and Marissa's beautiful wedding at the Cedar Rapids Double Tree. It was such a joy working with Emily and this amazing couple. I really enjoy stepping back and second shooting from time to time. It allows me to experience a wedding day from a slightly different angle and is super fun to get to work with another photographer. 100618-001 100618-003 100618-005 I love all the natural light at the Double Tree. Window light makes for gorgeous images.  To create a clean, classic look for these, we left their official getting ready room and headed to a room down the hall. This allowed us to get away from the clutter that comes with getting ready (makeup, dress bags, and all the miscellaneous items). 100618-010 100618-015 Did I mention how much I love window light?! This image of Marissa with her mother and sisters is so gorgeous! 100618-018 100618-019 100618-021 Josh and Marissa shared their first look in the beautiful glass room at the front of the Double Tree. 100618-024 Their family and friends watched from above, a fun way to keep the intimate feel of a first look, but still allow loved ones to be present in the moment.

Also, look at all these happy people enjoying the moment, not a phone in sight. This is why I encourage all my couples to have an unplugged wedding.
