Not going to lie, I’ve heard some pretty cringe-worthy stories of photographer clothing choices through the years, so it makes sense that I am often asked what I wear to weddings. Maybe you’ve heard of photographers showing up in khaki shorts and flip-flops, jeans and t-shirts, mini-skirts and low cut tops, etc. Yikes! Not my style.
I like to keep it classy and look like I belong at a wedding. My goal is to blend in and not be noticed more than necessary. For that reason, I wear black or navy knee-length dresses and will often accessorize with colors that match the wedding.
I wear simple ballet flats or dress sandals because I am on my feet for up to 11 hours and am pretty much constantly on the go. Naturalizer brand are my absolute favorites. Comfort is key, but being a professional is most important.
I keep my hair up in a bun or updo because it looks nice and it's super functional for me. I cannot photograph a wedding day if I'm constantly pushing my hair out of the way.
I hope this has given you a better idea of my wedding day style!
